Gingers Hide Away LLC
About This Spot
Stepping into Gingers Hide Away feels like slipping into a beloved local retreat where the pace softens and the chatter carries the easy warmth of familiar company. Nestled on a quiet stretch of Horicon’s East Lake Street, this spot invites you to settle in beneath handpainted wildlife murals that bring the surrounding natural beauty indoors. The atmosphere moves at a comfortable rhythm—lively enough for a casual night out, yet gentle enough to feel like an extension of home.
The soul of the place lives in those simple, thoughtfully prepared meals that encourage sharing and savoring. Whether you’re drawn to the wholesome comfort of their salad bar or the satisfying richness of the evening fish fry, the kitchen feels like a neighborhood hearth, turning out dishes that slowly reveal their heart over conversation and time. It’s the kind of spot where a post-golf group unwinds with generous portions that keep on giving, and where the bar offers more than drinks—it offers a canvas of local stories painted in every corner.
In Gingers Hide Away, you’ll find friendliness woven through attentive service and a space warmed by gentle lighting and spirited gatherings. It’s a welcoming pause in the day, a place where the familiar meets a quiet sense of discovery, and where every visit unfolds a little more of what makes small-town dining feel enduringly essential.

Excellent bloated chicken. We appreciated that the dining room was nice and warm.

We stopped after golf at Old Hickory. What a great place! The soup and salad bar were a meal itself. Everyone in our group had betrayed chicken. So good! To much to eat so we will get another meal out of it. And very reasonable prices too.

This bar is beautiful! The inside is covered in hand-painted murals of wildlife. There are many drink specials and a buffet in back if you are hungry.

Very good place to eat. Love their Poor Man's Lobster.. Bar and dining room is very nice, and the service is great.

Small town restaurant with delicious home-made food. Salad bar with many options. Brightly colored nature murals dot the walls. The soup and dessert (Strawberry Schaum Torte) were exceptional!
